OPERATION FEED 3.0 is an initiative of the Liberty NY Rotary Club, to provide meals to Garnet Health Regional Hospital – Catskills (GHMC-Catskills) and Sullivan County Public Health Staffs working extra shifts to staff Covid-19 immunization clinics, and renew our support for our local restaurants in this endlessly difficult time for them.
Donations are needed to Fund Opeartion Feed 3.0. Because our volunteers donate all of their time and efforts, one hundred percent of all contributions support the purchase of meals for the essential workers at the Covid-19 Vaccination Clinics.
The Covid-19 Pandemic has disrupted and affected individuals, businesses and organizations. Our local hospital has been providing exceptional health care, not only for those who have been affected by the pandemic, but also anyone who comes to their facility with an illness or injury. Now they are one of just a few sites in Sullivan County that will be delivering vaccinations for Covid-19. The hospital’s plan for staffing the vaccination clinics is to add an extra eight hour shift onto staff members’ regular full time assignments. Given the demand for vaccinations, the staff will work through their lunch hour in order to vaccinate as many residents as possible. Consequently, to support this effort by hospital staff to maximize the efficiency of the vaccination program, we would like to return to our Operation Feed Phase 1 model and provide “grab-and-go” lunches for these staff members. In addition, we will be able to support our local restaurants as we did last spring by ordering food from them and delivering the meals to GHMC-Catskills and Health Department for the workers and staff. In this way, the Liberty NY Rotary Club would be able to support the vaccination program – a crucial step in returning to “normal,” getting kids back into school, and improving our economy - support the CRMC staff, and support our local restaurants. We expect that all funds raised will be returned to our local economy.
