It has always been a priority of our club, and Rotary District 7210, to which we are a part of, to fight food insecurity in our communities.
Some of our club’s efforts, currently and/or in the past, include:
• Working with and supporting local partners that are feeding our neighbors. This has been achieved through over $2,000 in monetary donations, as well as volunteer efforts. An example of the latter is that our club recently agreed to take on a food delivery route for “A Single Bite” on Thursdays.
• Speaking of ‘A Single Bite,’ the non-profit partnered with us on this past November’s Dave Thomson Spirit, Beer and Wine Tasting Fundraiser, which in addition to benefiting our scholarship fund, raised substantial funds for them as well.
• Through Operation Feed 2.0, our club helped feed healthy meals to over 125 food insecure families in five communities during the pandemic. This effort has been sustained by ‘A Single Bite.’
• We’ve also hosted community dinners (the most recent of which took place last week on 2/16), and held coin drops and food drives benefitting local food pantries.
