Paul Ciliberto, Michello Semirano and Mike Sakell visited with our group on 3/11/15.  They stressed that radio is about "renting ears" and that while doing so, they feel they want to build strong relationships with the community.  Paul told us that the community comes first, which includes our business community, the general listenership and those in need.
Their good work has not gone unnoticed, and you will see Thunder 102 participating at many of the great fundraisers and community action projects throughout the county.  One of their own projects is Thunderbash, a large music festival featuring well know country acts like Sommerville, David Adam Byrnes, Iron Cowboy and Eric Pasley.  This event will benefit the local food pantries and it is requested that those that attend bring a nonperishable food item to donate.  The other big project they sponsor is a St. Jude's fundraiser.  They stressed that although St. Jude's is far away, the research and healing done there has impacted countless people through the treatments and medications developed at their facility.
It is an honor to share a community and so many worthy projects with Thunder 102.  Their commitment to the the people in their listening area make them a model of how partnerships  between business and their neihgbors can be beneficial to all parties involved.
Don't forget to listen for the weekly Rotary update on Thunder 102 at about 5:20 every Wednesday evening.
